Have you ever experienced the quiet strength of faith, a gift so profound it defies words?
This journey of rediscovering faith has opened my heart to the beauty of prayer—a sacred act that bridges the soul and the Divine.
There is something awe-inspiring about the gift of faith.
Faith is a dance between certainty and doubt. When conviction takes hold, no storm can shake it; it intertwines with all that is within and beyond us.
Growing up in a semi-religious family, my faith was mostly shaped by rituals. In my teenage years and early 20s, I cut ties with anything related to faith. Shame and guilt around sexuality pushed me away from the religious world. It was only in my late 20s, in times of despair and suffering, that I came to knock on God’s door again.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
This path has taken many turns, and almost six years later, I’ve come to taste Heaven through my relationship with the Divine—fleeting moments, but profoundly real. I’ve experienced personal moments with Jesus, which I cherish deeply, like treasures. These moments have become anchors, inviting me to live with an awareness that He is always near, sitting with me in every moment of life, just as He sat with His disciples.
“The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” — Psalm 145:18
There is beauty in speaking to, hearing, seeing, and feeling the Divine.
In the silence of early mornings, I’ve felt the Divine as a gentle cuddle in the sun, a glow in the sunrise, and a whisper in the darkest and coldest of nights. I see the Divine in the radiance of sunsets, the beauty of flowers, the healing of the body… and I long to return the gift of life in abundance. For me, prayer is the way to do so.
There is something extraordinary about communicating with the power above.
Whenever I pray, I go to a place—somewhere inside, that only I know.
And I remember the peace within. Prayer reconnects me to the calm stream of water that flows inside me and through the earth.
There is something so deeply touching about having your prayers answered—in the subtlest of ways. Some moments defy explanation, existing beyond the reach of words.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” — Matthew 7:7
If you are unsure where to start with prayer, begin with gratitude. Thank God for the blessings in your life—the experiences, the people, the lessons. Then, bring to light moments of regret: the ways you may have hurt others or yourself, consciously or unconsciously, and the times you’ve failed to attend to your brothers’ and sisters’ needs. Finally, ask boldly for what your heart desires, and do not hesitate to say, “Please.”
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” — Philippians 4:6
This simple practice can establish a meaningful ritual, daily or as often as feels right. For those of you reading this, I hope you remember to reignite this little glow inside and my deepest wish is to inspire you to reconnect with the eternal calm within. The Divine is near to all who call on Him.
May you find a quiet moment, close your eyes, and begin. In gratitude, in hope, in faith—let your heart speak.
